Boris Alyoshin Update

MOSCOW, September 2 (Itar-Tass) – The ex-chief of Russia’s car giant Avtovaz will become an adviser to the director-general of Rostekhnologii state corporation, Sergei Chemezov, said the corporation’s deputy director, Igor Zavyalov.

“Boris Alyoshin was offered to take the post of adviser to the Rostekhnologii director-general and he accepted this proposal,” he told the Vesti news channel on Wednesday.

Earlier, Alyoshin quit the post of the Avtovaz president that he had occupied since September 2007.

At present, Igor Komarov, who served as the car maker’s executive vice-president, heads the company.

Changes at AvtoVAZ

Igor Komarov has been appointed AvtoVAZ President, the company press office reported on Friday.

The AvtoVAZ Board of Directors accepted the resignation request of previous company president Boris Alyoshin and unanimously voted for Komarov.

Komarov was born in Engels, Saratov region, on May 25, 1964. He graduated from the Moscow Lomonosov State University in 1986 with a degree in economics and held high-ranking positions at commercial banks in 1992-2002.

He was a Norilsk Nickel deputy director general for economy and finance in 2002-2008; became an adviser to the Rostekhnologii direct general in October 2008 and was appointed as AvtoVAZ executive vice-president in May 2009.

NOTE: Avto-VAZ is a subsidiary of Russian Technologies.
