NAME: MAGOMEDSALAM MAGOMEDOV

BORN: 1 June 1964 in Levashi Village, Levashi District of Daghestan

EDUCATION: Mr Magomedov graduated from Daghestan State University in 1986 with a degree in labour economics. He finished law studies in 2000.

CAREER: *Upon graduation, Mr Magomedov worked as a research intern at the labour economics department at the Plekhanov Institute of the National Economy in Moscow.  *From 1987-1990 he did postgraduate studies at the labour economics department at the Plekhanov Institute of the National Economy in Moscow.  *From 1991-2000 he worked as a teacher, senior teacher, and lecturer at Daghestan State University’s department of economics and sociology. *From 1998-2006 he served as head of the Daghestan Government’s working group on developing Daghestan’s section of the Caspian Sea continental shelf.  *Mr Magomedov was Chairman of the People’s Assembly of the Republic of Daghestan from 2006 to 2007.  *From 2007-2010 he was a volunteer Member of the People’s Assembly of the Republic of Daghestan.  *He was subsequently elected to the second, third and fourth convocations of the People’s Assembly of the Republic of Dagestan.  *Mr Magomedov served as President of the Republic of Daghestan from 2010-2013. *On January 28, 2013, he was appointed Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office.

MISCELLANEOUS: *Mr Magomedov holds a doctorate in economics and the title of professor. *He was granted the Order of Honour in 2012.  *Married, has 2 sons and a daughter.  *Son of Magomedali Magomedov, who governed Daghestan from 1991 to 2006.
