NAME: VIKTOR ALEXEYEVICH ZUBKOV

BORN: 15 September, 1941 in Arbat, Sverdlovsk

EDUCATION: *Mr Zubkov is a graduate of the Leningrad Agricultural Institute, where he received a degree in Economics in 1965.  *He later gained a PhD in Economics.

CAREER: *Upon graduation, Mr Zubkov was drafted into the Soviet Army for 18 months.  *He subsequently worked on collective farms in the Leningrad Region from 1967 to 1985. *Mr Zubkov held various posts in the Leningrad Regional Administration from 1985 to 1991.  *He worked for the Saint Petersburg City Administration from 1991 to 1993, as Deputy Chair of the External Relations Committee.  *Mr Zubkov worked for the Federal Tax Service, and later the Tax Ministry from 1993 to 2000.  *He was appointed head of the Financial Monitoring Service, and First Deputy Minister of Finance in 2001.  *Mr Zubkov replaced Mikhail Yefimovich Fradkov as Prime Minister in September 2007.  *Upon Mr Medvedev’s inauguration, he was appointed First Deputy Prime Minister in Vladimir Putin’s Government (10 May, 2008).  *He has held the post of Chairman of the Board of Gazprom since 27 June 2008.

MISCELLANEOUS: *Married, one daughter. *Mr Zubkov is the Father-in-law of Anatoly Serdyukov (Minister of Defence since February 2007).  *He is the oldest member of the Government. *Supervisory Board Member, Vneshekonombank.  *Hobbies include fishing.  *Earned 4 million roubles in 2008, and 3.9 in 2009.  *Wife, Zoya earned more than 7 million roubles in 2009.  *In 2008, Mr Zubkov claimed a home with an attached garage totalling ~3,025 square feet.  The garage housed 2 cars, a vintage 1965 “Volga” GAZ-21P, and a Toyota.  *His wife, Zoya, claimed an apartment of ~1658 square feet, and a Toyota.  *In 2009, the Zubkov’s added 3100 square feet to their assets, with Zoya adding an apartment with ~1625 square feet.
