NAME: ALEXANDER BEGLOV
BORN: 19 May 1956 in Baku, Azerbaijan SSR
EDUCATION: *Leningrad Engineering and Construction Institute (1983); *Northwest Civil Service Academy (2003).
CAREER: *Mr Beglov was the Deputy Governor of St Petersburg under Vladimir Yakolev from 2002 to 2003. *He served as Acting Governor of St Petersburg following the early resignation of Yakolev up to the inauguration of Valentina Matviyenko from June to October 2003. *Mr Beglov was the First Deputy to the Presidential Envoy to the North-Western District, Ilya Klebanov, from 2003 to 2004. *He was appointed Presidential Aide and head of the Presidential Control Department in May 2004. *Upon the inauguration of Dmitry Medvedev as President in May 2008, Mr Beglov became Deputy Chief of the Presidential Staff.
